GRAYSON, 7, OMAHA, NE

Your First Name: Grayson

Age: 7

Where do you live? Omaha, Nebraska

Tell us about your family: I have 2 moms, a fish named Jerry (like Tom and Jerry), a frog named Marcy, and I used to have a snail named Peach Mystery but he died. I also have a big brown chocolate lab named Charlie. He weighs almost twice as much as me. What is your favorite hobby, sport or activity? Right now I LOVE my Wii Graysonthat I got for Christmas from Santa this year but my favorite thing to do is playing anything with my moms, like cars or Wii. Soccer season is coming up and it's my favorite sport. I also have a great time when it's warm outside playing with all of the neighbors in my backyard fort. Do you participate in any COLAGE activities, events or programs? Which ones? Do you like them? Why? We don't have a COLAGE chapter in Nebraska but maybe I'll start one when I'm a little older. I did go to the Rainbow Families Conference in Minneapolis last year and met lots of kids and I got to talk to them about Buddy G, the cartoon that I made with my moms. We also went on an R Family Vacation cruise and got to show Buddy G to all of the kids. That was AWESOME! What is the hardest thing about having gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and/or queer parent/s? For me - nothing is hard about it. What's the best thing about having gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and/or queer parent/s? I have two moms that play with me and take care of me. They feed me and stuff like that. It's great. What do you wish the world knew about people with LGBTQ parents? That they play with you and it's fun to have two moms. I think everybody should get to have 2 moms too. What advice or ideas would you want to share with other kids who have LGBTQ parents? I don't have kids say bad things to me about having 2 moms. The kids at school and my friends think it's no big deal but I know some kids aren't so lucky. So if kids say stuff to you about it don't listen. If they try to bully you, you should tell a grownup about it.
