Here you will find a list of some of the terms and words the COLAGE community uses! This is a dynamic list that will be changed and added to as our community grows and changes. COLAGEr, Queerspawn

Both “COLAGEr” and “queerpsawn” refer to some who has one or more lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer parent/caregiver. “Queerspawn” was coined by Stefan Lynch in 1995.

Second Gen

Shorthand for “second generation”. A person who is LGBTQ+ and has one or more LGBTQ+ parent/caregiver.

PTP

Shorthand for “People with Trans Parents”. A person with one or more transgender or nonbinary parent/caregiver.

GOLAGEr

A person with a lesbain, gay, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer grandparent who helped raise them.

Bothie

A person who has at least two LGBTQ+ parents who co-parent and/or share custody but are not partners or spouses with each other.

Culturally Queer

The feeling shared by many people with LGBTQ+ parents that they grew up immersed in queer culture, including traditions, celebrations, media, and language.
